Welcome
Thank you for joining the Marin Perinatal Community Listserv. We are pleased to welcome you to our perinatal provider community.
Marin Perinatal Therapy (MPT) is a collective that supports collaboration among perinatal providers while also offering direct services. This listserv is a volunteer-run resource designed to facilitate professional connection, referrals, information sharing, and community support in service of perinatal clients and families.
All messages are monitored, so posts may be delayed until approved.
By participating in this listserv, you agree to follow the guidelines and terms outlined below.
Purpose of the Listserv
The primary purpose of this listserv is to support perinatal clients through professional collaboration among providers. All communications should be relevant to perinatal health, mental health, and related professional services.
Posting Guidelines
Introductions
New members are welcome to introduce themselves and their work by posting to: marin-perinatal-community@googlegroups.com
Referral Requests
To protect client confidentiality, do not include identifying information when requesting referrals. Describe only the qualifications needed.
Suggested format:

Professional sought (e.g., therapist, doula, psychiatrist)

Areas of expertise (e.g., postpartum anxiety, couples therapy)
-
Geographic location or virtual support
-
Insurance requirements, sliding scale availability, or other practical considerations
-
Requested provider characteristics (if relevant to client preferences)
Additional client information should be shared privately only with responding providers.
Announcements and Promotions
Members may share information about relevant workshops, classes, books, podcasts, groups, or professional offerings that support the perinatal community.
Please limit announcements to two posts per event or offering. Repeat promotional posts are discouraged.
Do not add the listserv or its members to marketing campaigns, mailing lists, or solicitation efforts.
Replying to Messages
Send responses to the entire list only when the information benefits the broader community. Individual replies should be sent directly to the intended recipient.
Use clear and concise subject lines that accurately reflect the content of your message.
Professional Conduct
All members are expected to communicate respectfully and professionally.
The following are prohibited:

Defamatory, abusive, threatening, profane, offensive, or illegal content

Personal attacks or hostile exchanges

Political endorsements, petitions, or unrelated mass mailings
-
Discussions that are not relevant to the work of perinatal providers
Differences of opinion are welcome when expressed respectfully and constructively.
Confidentiality and Ethical Responsibilities
Confidentiality is a foundational ethical and legal obligation.
When discussing referrals or seeking resources:

Protect client privacy at all times.

Share only the minimum information necessary.

Consider whether someone familiar with the client could identify them from the details provided.
Members are responsible for ensuring that all posts comply with applicable professional, ethical, and legal standards.
Legal Considerations
Members may not post copyrighted materials without permission from the copyright owner.
By posting content to the listserv, you grant Marin Perinatal Therapy and listserv members a non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and share that content within the context of listserv communications.
Members may not use the listserv to facilitate or encourage unlawful business practices, including discussions related to:

Price fixing

Market allocation

Boycotts
-
Agreements regarding fees, salaries, profits, or business terms that may violate antitrust laws
General discussions of professional policies and practices are acceptable provided specific fee information is not disclosed.
Questions regarding legal, ethical, business, or practice matters may be better addressed through professional legal consultation or organizations such as CAMFT (for psychotherapists).
Moderation and Enforcement
All messages are moderated and may be delayed pending review.
If you have concerns regarding a post, please contact the moderator directly rather than responding publicly: ali@marinperinataltherapy.com
MPT reserves the right to remove any member whose participation is inconsistent with these guidelines.
Enforcement may include:

One warning regarding inappropriate posts or conduct.

Removal from the listserv for repeated violations.

Immediate removal for posts that are particularly offensive, hostile, or harmful to the community.
Repeated violations (more than two) may result in removal from the listserv.
Subscription Management
Members may manage their own Google Groups settings, including:

Email preferences

Digest delivery options

Display settings

Email address changes
